Family members were emotional when talking about Sonny and Pauline Carpenter.
They say Sonny and Pauline were kind, supportive, and people in the neighborhood called them great neighbors. The family shared two statements with KSN News the first, from their grandson, Miles David Medaris.
“Never in a million years did I ever think I would make a post like this. My grandparents were the most caring, loving and supportive people I ever had the privilege of calling family. They always made it a priority to be there for us grandkids at everything we were involved in. I am absolutely heartbroken that they left this world in such a cruel manner. They did not deserve this, they were the most kindhearted people on earth. I love them so much and will miss them immensely,” said Medaris.
They also released a family statement on Sonny and Pauline.
“As everyone can imagine, we are still in a state of shock and disbelief with the recent senseless tragedy of our parents and grandparents. We appreciate your understanding of our need for privacy during this most difficult time,” said the family.
Sonny and Pauline’s neighbors say they were nice people, and would help others when asked. One neighbor says she’s known them for about 10 years and will miss them. She adds she was shocked when police went to her home the other night for information on the couple.
“Cannot believe in shock, in shock that’s a tragedy what happened to them I wish the criminals are being punished by law,” said Lydia Dechant, Wichita.
Dechant says the last time she remembers seeing the Carpenters was about a week ago, when she was doing work in her yard.
