Crime Stoppers increases reward for suspect who shot at officer

Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for apprehension of the suspect who shot at a uniformed police officer in the parking lot of the Warren East on Wednesday, April. 13. 

The tipster who helps solve this case is eligible for a $5,000 reward.

At approximately 10:45, the officer was parked in his security vehicle, surveying the theatre’s parking lot. Someone driving a dark-colored Suburban or Tahoe turned off its headlights and drove onto an unpaved embankment along K-96 near the rear of the officer’s parked vehicle and fired multiple gun shots.

The driver than continued south on the shoulder of K-96 and escaped the area. The officer was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.

Crime Stoppers board unanimously agreed to increase the reward for any information leading to an arrest of the person who tried to shoot the uniformed police officer.
