Dog found beaten to death after burglary in Wichita

Crime

Wichita police say a dog was found dead Sunday morning in the 700 block of Mount Carmel Court following a burglary.

WPD Officer Paul Cruz says police responded to the incident around 11:40 a.m.

They are looking into when the crime happened.

Police say when they arrived, they found a dead American Bulldog Terrier who had been hit several times with a bat.

The dog’s name was Buffalo, and his owner, Robert Miller, is devastated.

“Every time you walk out of that door just make sure you say bye to him, that’s it, bye and you love him, give him a hug and a kiss and a treat, give him extra food because you don’t know they might not be there when you get back,” said Miller.

There was also damage to property, but they won’t say what at this time.

Police are asking you to call with any details in the case. The number is 316-267-2111.
