Fourth arrest made in deaths of Wichita couple found in Arkansas


A fourth arrest has been made in the homicide case of an elderly Wichita couple. 

Sonny and Pauline Carpenter, of Wichita, were found dead in Ozark National Forest in Arkansas on July 18. 

Their bodies were found in a shallow grave after they went missing from the Barton County Fair.

Christine Tenney of Santa Fe, Texas, was arrested Thursday in connection to the case. According to the Van Buren Police Department, she is being charged with abuse of a corpse, felony theft by receiving, tampering with physical evidence and obstruction of governmental operations. 

According to a probable cause affidavit released to KSN on July 19, Tenney initially told detectives she had been kidnapped and taken to Van Buren, Arkansas.

Tenney will be booked into the Crawford County Detention Center with no bond. 

Rusty Frasier, Kimberly Younger and Michael Fowler have also been charged with crimes related to the deaths of the Carpenters. All three worked as carnival workers at the Barton County Fair.
