Man and child injured in northeast Wichita drive-by shooting

Wichita police are investigating a drive-by shooting in northeast Wichita. It happened around 2 p.m. near the intersection of 24th and Chautauqua. Witnesses report several people opened fire. 

“Upon investigation, they found a residence in the 2400 block of North Lorraine that had also been hit, along with a vehicle that was parked in one of the driveways,” said Cpt. Lem Moore, Wichita Police Department. 

A man and a 7-month-old child were hit by shrapnel. They were not seriously injured. The child was transported to the hospital.

Police are blocking the intersection of 24th and Chautauqua while they investigate and are talking to residents.
