Police arrest burglary suspect after alarm sounds at pharmacy

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of burglary Tuesday.

Police responded to Barney’s Deep Discount Drugs in the 3100 block of West Central around 6 a.m. 

Officers found forced entry into a metal door and property from inside the store stacked by it. 

They arrested Mark Shepherd as he tried to exit.  He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail for burglary, theft, criminal damage to property, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
