Police identify victim who died after being shot in the neck Saturday

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 27-year-old man died after being shot in the neck Saturday morning in south Wichita.

It happened around 3 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Palisade. 

Officers found the victim, Jamarious Carter, with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries. 

The investigation revealed an unknown suspect shot the victim from outside the home. The suspect fled the scene.  

Police said it is not believed to be a random incident.
