Police make second arrest in drive-by shooting that left child injured

Wichita police have made a second arrest in connection to Wednesday’s drive-by shooting at a playground that left a 2-year-old girl shot in the foot.

Tyrin Powell was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and criminal possession of a firearm.

Police said the girl’s father took her to a hospital. Three other children, ages 8 to 16, were at the playground at the time but were not hurt.

Police said the shooting is part of a feud between street gangs that left a 7-month-old boy injured last Tuesday. That case is still under investigation.
