Police: Man forced to withdraw money from ATM during armed robbery

Wichita police said a 73-year-old man was forced to withdraw money during a robbery Wednesday.

The man called police around 6:30 from his home on North Chautauqua to report it. 

The victim said he was contacted by a man at the Dillons parking lot at 37th and Woodlawn. The suspect asked for a ride to 21st and Rock. He got out of the car and another man got into the car, pointed a gun, and demanded money. 

The second suspect had the victim drive to the Meritrust at 22nd and Rock to withdraw money from an ATM. The suspect took the money and fled on foot. 

The victim wasn’t injured. 

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
