Wichita police said a 40-year-old man is the city’s 15th homicide victim.

Police were called to a home in the 2600 block of South Sayles Tuesday afternoon following a shooting call. That’s near 31st Street South and Hillside.

Inside, police found Emmitt Lee Olson. He died from a gunshot wound.

“During the evening yesterday and throughout numerous interviews in the neighborhood, we learned that several individuals were inside the house at the time of the shooting,” said Lt. Todd Ojile, Wichita Police Department. “This house is a very active house that neighbors were familiar with. People were coming and going all times of day and night.”

Police tell KSN that drugs are frequent at the home. However, they don’t know if the shooting was drug related.

Police are still trying to locate about six people who may have been inside at the time.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
