WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police said a 42-year-old man was shot and killed after he confrontation over dumped trash. It happened around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.
Wichita police say the disturbance and shooting happened outside the Birrieria Tito restaurant when the victim was shot and killed.
“The suspect entered the business and began rummaging through a trash can. He was asked to continue that activity outside which he did,” said Capt. Jason Stephens, Wichita Police Department. “He dumped the trash can out and became engaged in a verbal argument with one of the employees. The victim came out and was subsequently shot.”
Police identified the victim as 42-year-old Oscar Acosta of Wichita.
The suspect arrested is 26-year-old Adrian Nicholas Zongker, who is currently on parole on a separate conviction.
Zongker was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.
