The Wichita Police Department is investigating after an early morning shooting in Wichita.
Police say a 27-year-old victim reported being robbed and shot in the face.
Around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the report of the shooting in the area of Central and Ridge. Upon further investigation, another scene was located in the 500 block of S. Florence.
Officers were able to make contact with the victim at a nearby hospital.
The victim said an unknown suspect demanded money and then shot the victim in the face. Personal property was taken from the victim and the suspect fled the scene and has not yet been located.
A citizen was able to take the victim to the hospital where the victim was treated for serious injuries.
