What is your plan to deal with the Kansas Budget?
Get an immediate solution to financial issues, and work to establish a long-term solution for providing a progressive and reliable environment to conduct business.
What kind of changes do you support in rewriting the school funding formula? Do you support additional funding for Kansas schools?
We need to examine school finances and establish a sustainable long-term plan which includes funding from different sources. Property taxes are regressive and restricting growth. The current situation is not sustainable and we are losing some of our best employees. Educators need to be involved this process. It will be a difficult task. Nothing positive happens when there is uncertainty in the work force. We need to be the national leader in education as we have been in the past.
What is your number one priority for the upcoming legislative session and how do you plan to address it?
My goal is to restore the moral of state employees. They need the best resources available, best facilities, compensated fairly, and recognized for their achievements. The same as everybody else. That is not the current situation and it has to change. My experience in business and managing people will help find the solutions.WEBSITE | Dave Baker for Kansas
