Chaos in the check-out line

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Newly released video shows a fight start between two customers in line at a Memphis, Tennessee Kroger grocery store.

Police are searching for the man seen in the video. The woman in the video, Megan Wilson, said the man attacked her in the checkout line when he got frustrated that she was paying with coupons and slowing up the line.

In the video, you can see Wilson throw liquid on the man, but she said that was an accident.

“I grab my drink, and go figure, the little stand that the card swiper thing is on. When I turn around, my hand hits it, my drink spills, and it hits him,” Wilson said.

Kroger customers who saw the video disagree with Wilson’s description of what happened.

“She picks up a drink and throws it at this guy — that’s outrageous,” Jackie Cash said.

“She provoked the actual physical altercation here,” Shawn Springfield said.

Everyone who saw the video said it shows there is enough blame to go around, but they all said there’s no reason for a conflict like this to get violent.

“Both of them are adults, and I think they should have handled it differently,” Adrienne Roddy said.
