Trooper Ben Gardner with the Kansas Highway Patrol hand delivered an Honorary Trooper certificate to a well-known Kansan on Thursday.
A video of the presentation was posted onto the Kansas Highway Patrol’s Twitter page.
Eric Stonestreet, a Kansas native, was given the KHP Honorary Trooper Award for his commitment to safe driving and seatbelt usage.
“You have done a lot for the Kansas Highway Patrol,” said Trooper Ben.
Stonestreet was also gifted a trooper hat.
“Wow that’s awesome,” said Stonestreet, who plays Cameron Tucker on the hit show Modern Family. “Well you know how much I love what you guys do and how you’re dedicated to keeping the people of Kansas safe.”
Stonestreet said he was going to hang his new hat and certificate in an area in his home that is dedicated to Kansas.
“Thanks colonel, thank you, stay safe everybody, click your seatbelts,” Stonestreet added.
