One resident in Overland Park did not receive their mail on Friday, all thanks to a slithering snake.
This wasn’t just any snake either. It was an enormous snake that had curled its way around the mailbox and a nearby railing.
Overland Park Police say the snake was found by a mailman who was working the mail route. The mailman then called animal control to assess the snake situation.
The Overland Park Police Department posted a few snapshots of the ordeal on their Twitter page.
The department said it was trying to talk the animal control officers into putting the snake under the police chief’s desk instead.
It’s unclear where the python came from or if it belongs to someone in the neighborhood, but for now the python is in the hands of Overland Park Animal Control.
