Drawings by a first-grader near Houston showing a teacher stepping on her foot and making her cry drew concern by her parents.

Angelica Reyes told local NBC affiliate KPRC that her 7-year-old, who attends Bowie Elementary School in Rosenberg, Texas, drew pictures of the teacher slapping the girl and stepping on her foot “on purpose.”

“She said that the teacher did slap her and then stepped on her. It’s hard for me as a mom. I don’t want to hear that from your kids,” Reyes said.

The substitute math teacher has been removed from the classroom while the school district investigates.

“Right now, we know the teacher isn’t going to be subbing at that school anymore,” the girl’s father, Johnny Luna said. “But if my daughter got slapped, what makes me think another kid won’t get slapped?”
