Farming accident kills 8-year-old boy in Galva

GALVA, Kan. (KSNW) – An 8-year-old boy is dead after a farming accident over the weekend.

It happened near Galva in McPherson County just before 1 p.m. Saturday.

Moundridge fire and EMS responded to the call.

The McPherson County Sheriff’s Department says the boy was riding with someone inside a tractor when it happened.

KSN has learned a heavy, metallic disc came off a piece of equipment and went airborne. That disc crashed into the cab of the tractor, striking the boy in the head.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was hurt in the accident.
