TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reports the former police chief in Osawatomie, Kansas was arrested on charges filed by the Miami County Attorney.
The KBI says the arrest comes following an incident on February 16, 2016 when Robert Butters allegedly attempted to intimidate a witness, intimidate with a law enforcement officer and was in possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
KBI spokesperson Doug Younger said Butters is being held on $250,000 bond in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Butters was replaced by interim chief Dave Ellis.
