GODDARD, Kansas – Goddard will soon have a new hotel and indoor waterpark.

SLN Manager, Inc. today announced that it will break ground on a $35 million Crowne Plaza hotel, an aquatic and wellness center, and a family entertainment center this spring.

“This new Crowne Plaza prototype is one of the first in the country and is connected to the aquatic and wellness center, which will make this a highly desirable destination,” said Eric Lund, a partner of SLN Manager and chief operating officer of S&L Hospitality, which will serve as the management company of the Crowne Plaza and aquatic and wellness center. “The natatorium will provide athletes across the country with a state-of-the-art Olympic training center. We are looking forward to being part of the community and working with local subcontractors and suppliers when we break ground on the hotel, aquatic and wellness center, and family entertainment center, all of which will be built under one roof and open to the public.”

Once built, the 88,000 square-foot, four-story, 141-room hotel will feature a restaurant and sports bar, a business center, an indoor pool and a fitness room. The Crowne Plaza brand recently introduced a new room concept called Biz Pro Rooms. Appointed with upscale amenities, including multiple USB ports, the hotel will feature 25 of these new room styles.

Expanding more than 100,000 square feet, the 1250-seat aquatic and wellness center will feature four pools, including a long course pool, a short course pool, a 25-meter training pool, a 25-meter dive pool and a therapy pool. The aquatic and wellness center will also have 4500 square feet of training rooms ideal for athlete training, meetings, corporate events, school and sports team functions, birthday parties, family reunions and more.

The contemporary designed hotel will also include a family entertainment center. Encompassing 17,000 square feet, the family entertainment center will offer themed, full-sized regulation Brunswick bowling lanes; laser tag; a laser maze; an arcade with ticket redemption; a fitness center and a sports bar.
