WICHITA, Kansas – One person is in critical condition following a house fire in south Wichita Friday night.
Sedgwick County dispatchers say when Wichita firefighters first arrived on the scene in the 1700 block of S. Martinson shortly after 9:10 p.m. they found smoke coming from part of a single-story duplex. The location is in south Wichita west of Harry St. and south of McCormick.
It wasn’t long firefighters discovered an unconscious, male victim in the house. Once he was outside the residence, firefighters determined he was in critical condition and transported him to the hospital.
The fire was contained shortly after the man had been pulled out of the house.
The cause of the fire and the damage estimates are under investigation.
