2 Barber Co. deputies, inmate injured in weather-related crash

BARBER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) - Authorities in Barber Co. say two Barber County Sheriff's deputies and one inmate were injured in a crash Friday afternoon.

Officials say their patrol car hydroplaned and slid off of the road, hitting a storage tank near Hwy 160 at Pixley Road, east of Medicine Lodge.

The deputies and the inmate suffered minor injuries.

The crash was caused by weather-related circumstances. The area experienced rain earlier today and weather conditions are expected to turn into a wintry mix overnight. The county could accumulate about an inch of snow as winter weather moves through the state.
