Barton County man arrested after drugs and firearms were located in home

The Barton County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 53-year-old Great Bend man accused of methamphetamine possession.

It happened around 1:30 p.m Wednesday just south of Great Bend on U.S. 281. 

The Barton County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant during an investigation. Deputies entered the home and found suspected drugs and paraphernalia. Another search warrant was obtained for the drugs. Two firearms were also seized. 

Fred Kopke II was booked on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a firearm. 

Kopke is being held in the Barton County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
