Dancing WPD cop strikes again in viral video

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Check out the moves on Timothy Baird.

The Wichita police officer was caught busting a move with some local dancers during Saturday’s Juneteenth parade.

Not long after he “walked it like he talked it” — this video popped up online, making him an internet sensation.

So why did he put his skills, or as he says his lack there of, on full display.

“I thought that looks like a blast. I’ve been standing here, I’m getting kind of warm, maybe I will move around some,” said WPD officer Baird. “I just jumped out started trying to do what they were doing and.. didn’t go over real well exactly what they were doing. I had a lot of fun.”

Believe it or not, this wasn’t Baird’s first time caught on camera dancing.

A few years ago someone recorded him teaching a young boy how to move at a community event.

While he admits his skills may not be competition worthy, he hopes people can see officers are more than men and women with a badge.
