Kansas State wrestling adjusting competition times due to winter storm

Winter weather is expected to dump inches of snow in parts of the Sunflower State this weekend. 

Not only will the weather affect travelers, it will also affect those competing in and watching the Kansas state wrestling tournament this weekend. 

The Kansas State High School Activities Association alerted their followers on social media to the following changes:

  • Park City, Class 5A and 6A tournaments will continue as scheduled
  • Salina Class 4A and Hays Class 3-2-1A will adjust the competition schedule due to the winter storm watch in place. The Friday schedule will not be affected. 
    • Breaks will be limited between rounds and rounds will run as soon as mats and officials are prepared
    • Competition is still scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. 
    • Time between rounds will be reduced
    • Medal round matches will run concurrently by weight class
    • All three matches in a weight class will begin at the same time
    • Award presenations will also be affected
