Authorities identify law enforcement officer found dead in patrol car in Brown County

BROWN COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating the death of a law enforcement officer who was discovered in northern Brown County, early Wednesday morning.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office requested KBI assistance at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, to investigate the circumstances of the death. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded.

Just before 6 a.m., a member of the Iowa Tribal Police Department discovered a patrol officer from the Sac and Fox Police Department deceased in his patrol vehicle.

The officer has been identified as Kirby Robidoux, 43, of the Sac and Fox Police Department.

At this time, foul play is not suspected, but a full investigation is being conducted.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
