KDOT social media account calls Trump ‘delusional communist’, employee let go

Kansas

The Kansas Department of Transportation on Sunday called President Donald Trump a “delusional communist” in a tweet that was later deleted.

The tweet from South Central Kansas KDOT read, “You’re a delusional Communist. You know it’s Communist countries that try to control media, right?”

This tweet was a reply to Trump’s tweet earlier today that criticized the weekend anchors on Fox News. He asked whether they’d been trained at CNN, a popular target of disdain from the President.

“In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shephard Smith!” Trump tweeted.

KDOT secretary Julie Lorenz released a statement saying, “Today a KDOT employee sent a tweet from our SC Kansas KDOT Twitter account. The tweet has been deleted from the KDOT account as it does not reflect the views of KDOT or the Administration and was an unacceptable use of state communication tools.”

She said the employee is no longer with KDOT but did not name him or her.

Democratic Governor Laura Kelly nominated Lorenz after being inaugurated in January.
