Man shot, killed in north Topeka home, police say

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – Authorities are investigating after a man was fatally shot in Topeka.

Police said in a news release that officers responded just after 6 p.m. Monday to a report of a shooting at a home in the northern part of the city. The release says the victim was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. He was identified as 35-year-old David William Payne. 

Police said a 32-year-old Topeka man was booked on murder charges related to this shooting.
