The City of Lawrence will be closing down Massachusetts Street on Saturday due to the Kansas Jayhawks’ game against Villanova.

With KU advancing to the Final Four, the street will be closed to traffic and parking from 6th St. to 11th St.

Access to alleys adjacent to Massachusetts Street will be limited to businesses and deliveries with no long-term parking.

Starting at 5 a.m. on March 31st, any vehicles parked on Massachusetts Street between 6th Street and 11th Street will be towed.  Owners of towed vehicles can contact Non Emergency Dispatch at 785-832-7509 for information on how to retrieve their vehicle.
From 11 a.m. to one hour after the game ends, the City will provide a park and ride option from Memorial Stadium – Lot 94, to the bus stop located in the 700 block of Vermont Street.
All of these measures are to promote a safe environment for those celebrating in the downtown area.
