Officials identify motorcyclist who died after hitting deer in Jefferson County

Kansas Highway Patrol have identified the person who died early Friday morning after their motorcycle hit a deer in Jefferson County. 

It happened just after midnight at 8922 K-4 Highway, near mile marker 345, just north of Meriden. 

Robert Allen Nelson, 41, of Dallas, Texas, was northbound on K-4 when a deer entered the roadway. Nelson struck the deer and was ejected from the motorcycle. 

Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.
