Update: Winfield man killed in motorcycle crash

WINFIELD, Kan. (KSNW) — One person is dead following a Wednesday evening motorcycle crash in Winfield.

The Winfield Police Department tells KSN News that shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, they were notified of the crash in the 2800 block of E. 9th Ave. It is near the City of Winfield Municipal Operations Center.

The crash happened as an eastbound pickup driving by 81-year-old Billy McArtor was stopped waiting on westbound traffic before turning into a parking lot. A Kawasaki driving by 39-year-old Steve Anstaett was eastbound and struck the back of the stopped pickup.

Winfield police said life saving measures were attempted but Anstaett died from his injuries.
