A Crawford County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Pittsburgh in southeast Kansas. The crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. Monday on US 69 Highway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 1989 Ford Ranger pickup was headed southbound on US 69 approaching E. 510 Ave. when a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound behind the pickup failed to stop as the truck was attempting to turn onto 510 Ave. KHP said the Malibu hit the pickup, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the pickup, 70-year-old Steven Hite of Pittsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Malibu was also injured and was taken to Via Christi hospital in Pittsburg.
Both drivers were wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash.
