Straight-line winds are making a mess in Eureka tonight.
Greenwood County EMS Director Brian Mongeau said the winds blew through the area around the Eureka Jr./Sr. High School and Marshall Elementary School around 6:15 p.m.
Roofing supplies that were on the property were picked up and blown around by the strong winds. The supplies were on the property being used to repair the roof from the last storm that came through the area.
There were about 100-125 people on the school grounds celebrating at a back-to-school barbecue. No one was injured when the winds blew through.
No structural damage has been reported at this time.
