Teen makes threat to Garden City school

GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KSNW) – Garden City police had additional officers at Horace Good Middle School Thursday morning after a teen allegedly threatened another student on social media. 

The threat, which depicted the use of firearms with the intent to harm students, was made Thursday evening. A student and parent informed authorities. 

The school district sent a letter to all staff and parents of Horace Good Middle School acknowledging the threat and that the school was going to increase officer presence.

The suspect, a 14-year-old student at the school, was identified by police around 10 a.m.

An affidavit has been filed with the Finney County Attorney’s Office requesting charges of aggravated criminal threat and criminal false communication.
