The Topeka Zoo is asking for your help in naming one of their new tiger cubs.
The zoo revealed the genders of the four babies with a fun October performance. Staff stood around a foggy caldron for the announcement, changing the color of fog to represent the genders of the cubs. Parents Jingga and Sanjiv welcomed three boys and one girl.
But the zoo needs help naming one of the baby boys. Starting Oct. 20, people can vote for three names to give to the cub. The zoo director, Brendan Wiley, said your involvement is what makes the zoo better.
“We’re a community where people actually know the names of our animals,” Wiley said. “So it just makes it really special when some of those names can be chosen by the community itself. The community is what makes this zoo so good.”
The names that you will be voting from are Badar, Eka and Lestari. The other cubs names will be chosen by the Blind Tiger Brewery and a family who has been involved at the zoo for years. The final name will be picked from staff.
Voting will take place during Boo at the Zoo until the 27th.
