Water park co-owner pleads not guilty to second-degree murder in Schlitterbahn death

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KSHB) - The co-owner of Schlitterbahn Waterpark pleaded not guilty Thursday to second-degree murder charges in connection to the 2016 death of Caleb Schwab.

Jeff Henry appeared before a Wyandotte County District Court judge Thursday afternoon.

During the hearing, Henry pleaded not guilty.

As part of his bond, Henry will have to surrender his passport. Prosecutors had also requested Henry wear an ankle monitoring bracelet. A judge said Henry did not have to wear one.

Attorneys set an April 25 status hearing.

The judge set a trial date for Sept. 10.

Henry remains out of jail after posting a $500,000 bond Wednesday.
