If you use Wichita water, get ready for your rates to go up.
Wichita City Council members approved a rate increase Tuesday morning. It is smaller than originally forecast.
The hike is 4.15 percent for this year. It is more than half a percent lower than city officials had planned.
The money will go to pay for projects including a new water treatment plant. It has a price tag of more than half a billion dollars.
Council members say they will be looking at future increases and ways to save money to help pay for the massive project.
