Winter weather causes several crashes in NE Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - Multiple cars were involved in wrecks Sunday afternoon due to Winter weather.

KSNT News reporter Jared Thompson was at a multiple vehicle crash on I-470 and Highway 75 around 1:30 p.m. Hwy 75 southbound was closed for a short time, but opened up quickly. 

 

Topeka Watch Commander told KSNT News five people total were taking to a hospital with minor injuries. One of those people was outside of their car, trying to flag down officers, and was hit by a car.

Everyone is expected to be ok. 

KSNT News reporter Willis Scott was at a one-vehicle rollover on I-470 near Burlingame.

 

Police said the driver got out on her own without any injuries.

In Riley County, emergency crews have also worked several wrecks. Just before 1 p.m., RCPD tweeted it was working eight wrecks.
