15-year-old student arrested following Wellington school threat

UPDATE: A 15-year-old student has been taken into custody on criminal charges following the school threat at Wellington High School Friday.

According to the Wellington Police Department, police were notified by school administrators that a discovery of a threatening note indicating a bomb could be found on campus. 

Students were evacuated to a safe location as a result of the threat. ATF and KHP officials responded to the threat and no explosive devices were found. 

Wellington High School was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat. The school was evacuated to Ignite Church. 

The district said students who drive to school were allowed to leave. 

Parents may pick high school students up at Ignite Church on Woodlawn.

Police are on the scene investigating.
