2.9 magnitude earthquake recorded Tuesday in Ellis County


HAYS, Kan. (KSNW) – The United States Geological Survey reports a minor earthquake in Ellis County on Tuesday.

The quake was located seven miles north of Ellis. The quake according to the USGS measured 2.9 magnitude.

The threshold for damage usually starts at a magnitude 4.0. If you felt the earthquake, you can report it to USGS.
