A fire broke out at a home in east Wichita Sunday morning, destroying two cars.
It started as a house fire call out of the area of Pawnee and Webb Road. When crews arrived, they found it was actually a car that was on fire.
Authorities say the flames spread to a second car and the home before crews could get them put out.
Officials say battling a car fire is different than taking on a house fire.
“The difference is, with the cars today, they are made up of a lot of plastics,” said Lt. Troy Thissen. “And they burn very, very hot and very, very fast.”
Fire investigators are working to figure out what caused the fire. Although both cars suffered major damage, the home only suffered a small amount.
