3.8 magnitude earthquake hits north-central Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNW) – The United State Geological Society is reporting a 3.8 magnitude earthquake just south of Formoso, Kansas this morning.

Formoso, with a population of 93, is located in Jewell County just south of the Kansas-Nebraska line.

An earthquake of 3.8 magnitude can typically be felt as far as 60 miles from its epicenter.
