Wichita police said one man died after a shootout in southeast Wichita. It happened on South Glendale just before 6 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they found one man, identified as 43-year-old Ray B. Nunley, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said the gunfire erupted during a fight.
“The victim, Mr. Nunley, went next door to calm things down. During this argument, several shots were fired. The victim, Mr. Nunley, was struck several times. He was able to walk back to the front of his residence where he collapsed,” said Lt. Jeff Gilmore, Wichita Police Department.
According to jail arrest records, 28-year-old Aubrey M. Oliver was arrested on Sunday. He was booked for suspicion of first-degree murder.
Right now, police are still investigating to see if there was gunfire exchanged between the victim and the suspect.
It is the 42nd homicide of the year in Wichita.
