NBC’s “The Voice” is still one of the most popular reality shows on TV. Of course, you can watch the show on Monday and Tuesday on KSN.
It wasn’t that long ago that a local singer almost took home the title. Wichita’s Chris Mann was a popular contestant in season two. Recently, we caught up with Chris to talk about his success and how “The Voice” helped launch his career.

The last six years have been a whirlwind for Chris Mann. He’s gone from “The Voice”, to a successful singing career and theater performer.
It was in season two that the world got to know singer Chris Mann.
“It was an amazing experience that I was lucky to get, it was a total fluke. People ask me all the time how do you get on the show? It’s pretty much winning the lottery,” said Mann.
The Wichita native was a finalist on the reality show. He made it all the way to the top four.
“You know it was an amazing experience and time for me, getting to work with Christina and when I come home, people always remind me that I was on the show, and I remember how much support I got,” said Mann.
His appearance on the show jump-started his career of pop hits. (Story continues below)

“I have a new album coming out in November. It’s being broken into three stages, November, January and March. So, everyone who follows me online can keep an eye for that,” said Mann.
Chris says his new album features a Grammy Award winner.

“One of my songs is featuring a good friend of mine, one of my musical heroes, India.Aire, who is a Grammy Award winning artist. She joins me on my record as well, which is super cool,” said Mann.
“I love Wichita. I love being from and seeing how vibrant Wichita is now, and I love seeing the flag, which is sort of new to me,” said Mann.
Chris is touring around the country with symphony’s and orchestras. He’s returning home again in December to perform Christmas music with the Wichita Grand Opera Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.

“I’ve performed all over the world, and this show was so special for me. Because, I walked out and there were 1,600 in Century II, where I performed with Music Theater of Wichita and to be on the stage was special,” said Mann.
Chris now lives in Los Angeles. He is married with a one-year-old. Despite all his fame, he’s never forgotten about his roots.
“I love Wichita. I love being from and seeing how vibrant Wichita is now, and I love seeing the flag, which is sort of new to me,” said Mann.
Chris says watching “The Voice” makes him anxious, because, he knows the pressure the singers are going through, the stress and anxiety of the entire country cheering for you.
You will have a chance to see Chris perform in a Christmas concert in Wichita next month. He will be on stage with the Wichita Grand Opera and Orchestra on December 1. The show starts at 7 p.m. at Century II. Tickets are on sale now. Click here for more information.
