Body found in river near downtown Wichita


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Emergency crews found a body in the river near Seneca and McLean, near downtown Wichita.

Wichita police say kayakers found the body around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

When police arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound. However, they won’t say if the man died from the gunshot or drowned.

Police say the man appears to be in his 40s. They haven’t released anymore details about him.

Investigators are still working to find out what happened.
