“Who knows what a day will bring,” says Marilyn Gattis.
Tuesday, it brought large hail and high winds.
“The wind was whipping so bad. I was standing in the doorway, and I couldn’t see the street because of all the hail,” says Darrell Dunham.
Dunham went outside to downed tree fence damage and a big mess to clean up.
The Gattis’s needed some extra hands after they found this ceiling window in their bathroom shattered by the hail.
“Tom, across the street, is going to put a tarp over it,” said Gattis.
They were shocked by the damage from the golf ball sized hail.
“The hail and the wind, it did not last all that long ,but it was rough,” she says.
Contractors were out assessing home damage in east Wichita for the remainder of the evening .
