The businesses in the area of Hydraulic and Douglas have been impacted due to constant road work, so a local group stepped up to put their money where the construction is.
It’s called the DDD Day Cash Mob and it was organized by 360 Wichita and the Douglas Design District.
The event ran all weekend.
People gathered to visit local shops and restaurants affected by construction and severe weather.
Business owners say the event and the improvements from the construction are greatly appreciated.
“Now that it’s done, it’s beautiful. It’s much easier to turn. It’s easier to get out of our parking lot and driveway, drive-thru, personally at the end of the alley,” said Ash Luster, Donut Whole general manager. “The improvements they’ve done on the intersection have been beautiful.”
The construction in the area has ended so officials believe business will pick back up soon.
