Shocker fans want to be in New York and we caught up with a super fan on his way back from Indiana, who says he will do his best to be there.

Dick Dameron and his friend are big Shocker fans, who like to cheer their team on from the stands.

“Clemson game, and prior to that I was at the Furman game, and prior to that I was at the Memphis game,” said Dick Dameron, Derby.

Dameron is a Wichita State grad and has a love for the sport. He also appreciates the team’s leadership with Coach Gregg Marshall.

“Easy to follow him around because he makes you real, real proud,” said Dameron.

He was impressed with their win against Indiana.

“It was like a good prize fight, and we knocked them out in the last round,” said Dameron.

“This is what March is about for us.” said Courtney Marshall, Wichita State Alumni Association.

Alumni President Courtney Marshall says she’s also been on the road with the team. She says it’s been busy ever since their win on what’s next.

“Fielding calls since last night, working on a travel package,” said Dameron.

The package includes hotel stay close to Madison Square Garden, pregame events, and a city metro card.

Price per person depends on the number of people per room, but starts at just over $1,600 for a single. There are a limited amount of spots.

Game tickets are not included, but staff will be on hand to help make it a great experience

“This is what we love to do to, have the opportunity to engage with our alumni across the country and bring people together,” said Dameron.

Dameron says he needs to talk with his wife before making any commitments. But if you’re interested in the alumni package you can click here.
