WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a 19-year-old man killed in a crash in southeast Wichita. It happened around noon Wednesday in the 4400 block of E. MacArthur by Spirit AeroSystems.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said the crash involved a motorcycle and a Hummer. The sheriff’s office said the motorcycle, operated by Tayvon Starr, was going east when the Hummer going west turned into a Spirit parking lot. The two collided and the crash is still under investigation.
“We are still trying to determine the movements of the vehicles prior to the crash. We don’t know what occurred. If it was a speed-related thing,” Sedgwick County Lt. Steve Olsen said.
The sheriff’s office says there were no signs of intoxication by the drivers and that the driver and passenger in the Hummer were not hurt.
MacArthur was temporarily closed between K-15 and Oliver but reopened hours later.
