Fundraiser held for Deputy Robert Kunze

Two weeks ago, Sedgwick County Deputy Robert Kunze died in the line of duty.  Since then, support has poured in from the community for his family.

On Sunday evening, dozens of people made their way to Fuzzy’s Taco Shop for Deputy Kunze’s wife and daughter.

When the fundraiser began, the line was out the door. People were wearing shirts with the thin blue line in support.

The sheriff’s office said they were thankful for all the support.

“It’s been overwhelming. It almost tears you up just hearing the stories of people that either worked with him or knew him just coming here and showing love for his family,” said Aaron Miller, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

“I have family that is involved in law enforcement and wanted to present and support the family. I can’t what they’re going through,” said Holly Velazco, Goddard resident.

Any tips left on the table also went to the family.

You could also buy bracelets with Deputy Kunze’s name on them.

Fuzzy’s also sold brownies and those proceeds went to his family.
